These commercial

on mega yachts registered in 23 countries around the world no matter
where the yacht is located. All commercial charter vessels require
certified masters/captains and crew. Most insurance companies now
require that all paid crew have MCA approved yachtmaster certificates
and the STCW95 courses.
CAPTAINS – MASTER OF YACHTS 200tons(offshore)
Captains are the heart and helmsman of any boat…..the lifestyle onboard any vessel can be diverse & the challenges and daily schedules vastly different…but the one thing that all Captains have is an ingrained love of the seas & oceans. They administer to the owner, the crew & the yacht herself, ensuring that all aspects of smooth operations have been taken care of, be it by delegation or hands-on over-seeing. Captains become Personal Assistants to the Owner whilst onboard, Yard & Project Managers whilst coordinating refit & new build projects, Financial whizzes organising crews salaries, Charter expenditures, Personnel recruitment Agents, their roles encompassing every aspect of Yacht Management whilst still finding time to 'just drive the boat'!
The Captain sets the tone & image for each particular yacht by finding a way of running the most productive & contented of crews……a great achievement. A sound engineering background usually assists in the smooth mechanical operations onboard…the Engineer & Captain working hand in hand to maintain the highest levels of Marine Safety for all onboard. MCA/STCW95/USCG/ IYT/DOT licensed & insurable for foreign flagged vessels & USL licensed vessels whether it is motor or sail become pre-requisites for Insurance companies.
