This 5 day course places great emphasis on practical boat handling skills, which are essential for all deck crew. The theoretical and practical skills you will learn will give you a basic understanding of what is required to be an active crew member onboard a superyacht. Both power and sail superyacht skills are covered in the course, which will increase your opportunities for placement once you’ve graduated.
As an added bonus, and to give you a real feel for the job, students experience 1 night sail staying overnight onboard a luxury training yacht during the course. Please note that there is no smoking above or below decks.

Many Captains and First Mates began their yachting careers in this role. This entry-level qualiication can provide you with an opportunity to fill a gap year, spend a few years in a fast moving and dynamic industry, or it can become the cornerstone of a long and lucrative career in superyachting.
