Small Power Boat & RIB Master Driving Course
This course in handling a superyacht tender is important for any crew member aboard a yacht and critical if you are interested in a career in yachting. The course will give you the skills needed to drive tenders and small power boats. On completion you will be issued with an internationally recognised MCA approved certificate.
Boat Handling syllabus
During this two day course, you will have a total of 6 hours of practical onboard training, 5 hours of theory and a 1 hour theory test.
Your training will include:

Safety procedures before and after leaving the dock.

The parts of a motor boat and essential nautical terms.

Getting the motor boat ready to go.

Nautical right of way rules.

Normal and emergency use of a VHF radio.

Steering and docking a motor boat.

How the wind, waves and boat speed effect boat handling.

How to tie four essential knots, coil and secure lines.

Essentials of Anchoring

Safety equipment on board and how to use it.

How to read a nautical chart and use a compass.

Plus lots of other nautical information, with plenty of chances to ask whatever questions you might have.
We limit the activity to a maximum of 5 students so you will have personal attention.
What do I bring?
IYT International Boating & Passport Log book, RIB master manual. Pen and notepaper. Also bring a hat, sunglasses, suntan cream, a warm jumper, change of clothes (minimal wardrobe needed), rain jacket.
Please note that there is no smoking on board the boat.
How Long is the course?
2 full days - 9.30 AM to approximately 4.00 PM

Where and when do we begin?
Arrive at the Superyacht Crew Academy training annexe at 9:30 AM. Located at the Quattro Q2, level 3, 4 Daydream Street, Warriewood.
